Lara Abu Rumman, MD

Bio

Dr. Abu Rumman grew up in Amman, where she earned her medical degree from the University of Jordan. She credits her journey to the unwavering support of her parents, whose belief in her shaped who she is today. During medical school, she found that same support in her husband, Mohammad, and together they couples matched at Le Bonheur. After visiting Memphis, she knew it was exactly where she wanted to begin this next chapter.

Outside of medicine, she is a devoted pet lover and has a cat named Masoud, whom she enjoys dressing up in cute outfits. She also enjoys picnics, collecting flowers and preserving them in resin, as well as long drives and exploring new cuisines with her husband.

Chakameh Akhavan, DO

Bio
Dr. Akhavan was born in Iran and moved to the United States with her family during early childhood. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Washington before completing her medical degree at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where a central portion of her training took place at a federally qualified community health center in Waiʻanae, Hawaiʻi. She is excited to begin her pediatrics residency at UTHSC as part of the Le Bonheur family. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Erin Bodenbach, MD

Bio
Dr. Bodenbach was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where she received her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology & Physiology. She then earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bodenbach enjoys building LEGO sets and incorporating them in her home decor, watching motocross and Supercross races on the weekends, and trying new restaurants and coffee shops.

Jerry Casteel, DO

Bio
Dr. Casteel was born and raised in Douglasville, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Natural Science with a minor in Spanish from Pensacola Christian College. He then went on to attend Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he pursued his medical degree and met his amazing wife. When he is not practicing medicine, he is always looking for things to do outside. Whether its hiking, pickleball, disc golf, or training his new puppy, he is constantly looking for new adventures.

Bio
Dr. Dodia hails from India and grew up in Anand, a city renowned as the Milk Capital of the World. He pursued his higher education in the Philippines, earning his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Ago Medical and Educational Center before obtaining his MD from Bicol Christian College of Medicine in Legazpi City. Outside of medicine, he enjoys working out and staying fit, traveling to new places, and exploring different cuisines/breweries/cafés. He is thrilled to have matched at Le Bonheur and looks forward to beginning his residency training. He is equally excited to experience Memphis, build new friendships, and contribute to the community.

Jacob Greene, MD

Bio
Dr. Greene was born and raised in West TN. While attending Union University in Jackson, he majored in Chemistry and played collegiate soccer. He then graduated from UTHSC College of Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, playing soccer, and spending time with his two goofy orange cats (Brie and Gorgonzola).

Christa Guillory Nionakis, DO

Bio

Dr. Guillory was born and raised in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She earned her B.S. in Neuroscience and German from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met her husband. After getting married, they moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where Dr. Guillory attended medical school at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. They are excited to now call Memphis home as she pursues her dream of becoming a pediatric neurologist.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Guillory enjoys spending time with her husband, their two cats and two dogs, and working in the garden.

Himanshu grew up in India before attending Kathmandu Medical College, where he earned his medical degree. He views medicine as a lifelong learning journey and is committed to a collaborative, family-centered approach to pediatric care. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, playing tennis, and exploring local hiking trails to maintain an active lifestyle. He is thrilled to be in Memphis to complete his Pediatrics Residency training and serve the local community!

Alexis Hinson, MD

Bio
Dr. Hinson was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Mississippi State University (Hail State!), where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences before returning home to complete medical school at UTHSC. During her training, she discovered a passion for pediatrics and found purpose in giving back to her community through medicine. She is excited to continue her journey in Memphis at Le Bonheur and St. Jude. Outside of medicine, Dr. Hinson enjoys baking, sewing and quilting, spending time with family and friends, and taking walks with her beagle mix, Winnie.

Emily Hood-Weiss, MD

Bio

Dr. Hood-Weiss is originally from Milton, TN. She earned her BS in Molecular Biology from Lipscomb University and went on to complete her MS in Pharmacology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She quickly fell in love with Memphis and chose to stay at UTHSC to earn her MD. She is thrilled to be continuing her training in Memphis as a resident physician at Le Bonheur and St. Jude.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, sewing, and embroidering, as well as attending concerts, traveling, and trying new restaurants. She especially cherishes time spent with her husband, Seth, an internal medicine resident, and their two dogs, Dolly and Addy.

Ellis Linder, DO

Bio
Dr. Linder grew up in Brentwood, TN. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in Biochemistry, Cellular, & Molecular Biology and History. She later moved to Virginia to pursue a masters, then attended VCOM for medical school. In her free time she enjoys reading, knitting (with the help of her cat, Evie), trying new restaurants, and attempting to catch up on all the shows her friends recommended while she was in med school. She is so excited to move to Memphis and become part of the Le Bonheur family!

Kylie Mastalerz, MD

Bio
Dr. Mastalerz is a proud Memphian, and she is so excited to continue her training in her hometown! She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Memphis. After college, she spent a year scribing in a local emergency department where she fell in love with the art and science of medicine. She was thrilled to attend medical school at UTHSC College of Medicine. She is the wife of Blake Mastalerz, a fellow intern in the general surgery program. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with Blake, running at Tom Lee Park, and baking cookies while listening to Beatles music. She could not be more grateful for the opportunity to continue her training at Le Bonheur and be a part of the program that has already taught her so much!

Ernest Metelus, MD

Bio
Dr. Metelus is originally from Brooklyn, NY and is a recent graduate from Ross University School of Medicine. He is ecstatic to commence his pediatric training here in Memphis at Le Bonheur! When he is not at work, he enjoys recreational sports, attending concerts/festivals, and volunteering in the community, and spending time with family and friends. You could also find him anxiously cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and Boston Celtics during the NFL/NBA season. He also enjoys experiencing new restaurants and traveling with his wife and daughter. He is looking forward to building community and memories here in the cultural city of Memphis!

Joseph O’Hara, MD

Bio
Dr. O'Hara was raised in Bonne Terre, MO. He completed his bachelor's degree in neuroscience at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO and continued on there to complete his medical school training. In his free time, he likes weightlifting, 3D printing, and playing videogames. He is excited to further his training outside of St. Louis and join the Le Bonheur family in Memphis.

Neely Patel, MD

Bio
Dr. Patel is originally from London, KY. She studied Biology at the University of Kentucky for undergad and went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Outside of work she loves to travel the world and spend time with family and friends. Neely is honored to be welcomed into the Le Bonheur family. She is also excited to become a Memphian and see what all Tennessee has to offer!

Sunnie Reagan, MD

Bio
Dr. Reagan was born and raised in Cleveland, TN. She received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from University of Huntsville in Alabama and then retuned to Tennessee to earn her M.D. at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. In her free time, Sunnie enjoys long walks, group fitness classes with friends, listening to Taylor Swift, and spending time with her cat, Bella! She is excited to continue her training in Memphis!

Emily Reinertson, DO

Bio
Dr. Reinertson was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa and studied psychology and creative writing. She then moved to Wichita, Kansas to attend Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. In her free time, she spends her time talking on the phone with her mom, needlepointing, or watching reality TV!

Emily Richardson, MD

Bio
Dr. Richardson was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She studied health sciences, genetics, and biology at Clemson University where she earned her BS in 2019. (Go Tigers!) She then graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, SC. She spent a year in pediatric otolaryngology research prior to beginning her pediatrics residency. In her spare time she enjoys getting outside with her family and dogs, reading, barre, and cycling. She is excited to be staying local with great food, friends, and family during her residency!

Mohammad Sadaqa, MD

Bio

Dr. Sadaqa was born and raised in Jordan and earned his MD from the University of Jordan School of Medicine. During medical school, he met his wife, Lara, and together they chose Le Bonheur as the place to begin their journey in pediatrics, drawn by the welcoming community and natural beauty of Memphis. He is excited to grow both personally and professionally as he starts this new chapter. 

Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing and watching soccer—especially FC Barcelona—and basketball, and is looking forward to becoming part of the Memphis Grizzlies fanbase. He also enjoys swimming and biking whenever he gets the chance.

Maame Efua Sersah, MD

Bio
Dr. Sersah was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, where she completed both her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Ghana. She has a strong passion for serving others and has been actively involved in volunteering in underserved communities and working with childcare centers across Ghana. Outside of medicine, she is a proud Potterhead and will happily talk about anything related to Harry Potter. She loves all things food—cooking, eating, exploring new cuisines, and watching cooking shows with her nephews and nieces. She’s also a devoted pet aunt to three cats and several dogs, so life is never boring!
Maame is excited to begin this next chapter of her journey in Memphis and is happy to join the Le Bonheur family.

Samantha Sherman, MD

Bio
Dr. Sherman was born in Memphis and raised just outside of Jackson, Mississippi. She completed her undergraduate studies at Millsaps College in Jackson, where she earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, as well as a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance. She attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center for medical school, where she developed a strong passion for addressing patients' social determinants of health. Outside of medicine, she enjoys singing in choirs, attending local concerts and shows, traveling, and spending time with her cat, Clara. She is thrilled to return to Memphis to continue her medical training at Le Bonheur and St. Jude!

Emily Tran, MD

Bio
Dr. Tran has lived in both the Midwest and the South. She was born in Wisconsin and grew up in central Illinois until age 16, when she moved with her family to Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology. She then spent a year conducting clinical research and tutoring K–12 students before beginning medical school at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, trying new restaurants and cafes, and going for walks or runs. She is excited to explore a new city, join the UTHSC/Le Bonheur family, and train to be the best pediatrician she can be.

Catalina Trieu, DO

Bio
Dr. Trieu was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She got her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in psychology at the UT Knoxville and completed her medical education at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys going to arts and culture festivals, trying new food, going on road trips, and lounging around with her cat, Star. After leaving Memphis for college eight years ago, she is so excited to get to return to her community as a pediatrics resident at UTHSC.

Jenna Wilson, MD

Bio

Dr. Wilson grew up in Haubstadt, Indiana. She later moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where she earned her BS in Human Health Sciences and her MD from the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!). During medical school, she completed the Global Health track, gaining extensive experience in global health during her time in South Africa. She is particularly passionate about patient advocacy and patient education.

Outside of the hospital, she enjoys staying active with pilates and pickleball, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with her nieces and nephew. Dr. Wilson is excited to be a new Memphis Grizzlies fan and looks forward to serving the families of Le Bonheur and St. Jude.
