Nurse Educator
The UTHSC Nurse Educator Track is a 9-month program for instructors interested in developing and/or deepening their understanding of the pedagogical strategies used to effectively teach nursing students. This faculty development experience is designed for nurse educators who are preparing for or have achieved the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential. The Nurse Educator Track is brought to you through a partnership between the Teaching and Learning Center and the College of Nursing.
The Nurse Educator program is open to all UT Health Science Center nursing educators. Interested participants should contact their department chair to register for this certificate.
Program components:
- A series of monthly online workshops on issues related to nursing education. Topics will include backwards design, writing and interpreting assessments, and CNE exam preparation. Workshops will be led by UTHSC CON faculty and TLC staff.
- Access to resources related to the above topics and other topics that arise.
- An online forum where members of the cohort can meet and discuss thoughts and concerns about nursing education.
- Support for the cohort should any of the members wish to continue meeting after the initial program. The group would be self-led with support from the TLC as requested.

Certificate of Completion
Participants who satisfactorily complete the set of requirements listed below are eligible for a UTHSC Teaching Excellence Institute Nurse Educator Certificate and a $500 stipend.
- Attend eight of the nine monthly sessions
- Complete monthly assignments
- Develop a portfolio of nurse educator artifacts
Sessions
