Craft of Teaching Medallion

Complete the requirements for the Craft of Teaching medallion, including writing a teaching philosophy, develop learning objectives, and consider ways to evaluate and give feedback to students

An introduction to the TLC and its services, an overview of the certificate program and its requirements and a meet and greet of the TLC team and this year's cohort.

Student Panel

A group of UTHSC students will discuss the learning environment at UTHSC and what it means to be a student.

Evidence-Based Learning

An overview and discussion about various theories about how students learn and practical tips for applying those theories.

A member of the UTHSC faculty will discuss organizational strategies for efficiency and student success.

Student Ratings of Instruction

An instructional consultant from the TLC will speak about SRIs, how to use them as a tool for improvement, and how to deal with unhelpful comments.

Effective Use of Presentation Software

Discussion of effective strategies to create engaging and pedagogically sound digital presentations.

Develop a five-minute presentation and record it on MyMediaSite.

Inclusivity 

An in-depth workshop on how to create and encourage an inclusive learning environment that supports student learning.
