Anita Settles-Seymour joined the faculty of University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May 2016. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration in 2008 and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1991 both from the University of Memphis. Anita also is a 1984 alumni of Methodist School of Nursing where she received a diploma in Nursing. She has 31 years of nursing experience which was obtained as an employee with Methodist Lebonheur Healthcare. While at Methodist, she has functioned in various roles. Her roles include staff nurse on a Medical –Surgical /Urology unit and in the Urodynamic Laboratory. Anita’s experience also includes 20 years of Nursing Management in the Endoscopy Unit and Perioperative Services. While serving as Clinical Director in Perioperative Services, she received the Summit Award from the Memphis Chamber of Commerce for her quality project on “Improving First Case Start Times in the Operating Room”. Anita is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and is certified as a Six Sigma green belt. She is a 2003 graduate of the Maurice Elliot Leadership Institute and a 2009 graduate of the Nurse Leader Institute.
