Meghan Madea, MSN, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC, joined the University of Tennessee (UT) Health Science Center’s College of Nursing in September of 2022 as an Instructor in the Department of Community and Population Health. Before joining the full-time faculty, Madea had served as an adjunct faculty member since 2016 while working as a Certified Nurse Midwife at Regional One Health.
Madea’s career has been rich in diverse experiences serving women around the world in full-scope practice. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 with a Master of Science in Nursing and dual certifications in Midwifery and as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Madea is passionate about serving women from underserved populations and has made it her career goal to dedicate her services to such patients. She has been actively involved in the clinical preceptorship of numerous students and enjoys teaching students in the classroom, simulation center, and clinical settings. She continues to serve the women of Memphis in full-scope practice as part of the UT Health Science Center College of Nursing Faculty Practice at Regional One. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
Madea is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), and Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI).
