Rebecca Burrow is an Instructor for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), joining the faculty of the College of Nursing in August of 2022. She received her Diploma of Nursing from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Union University. She completed her Master of Science of Nursing Degree in Nursing Education with a focus in Maternal-Child Health at Union University in 2017. Burrow is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and enjoys a focus in women’s health.
Burrow has experience in maternal child health nursing. She has worked in inpatient labor and delivery units in the Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee, areas, as well as high-risk outpatient setting in Jackson, Tennessee. She has also worked in neonatal intensive care and coronary critical care.
Burow's teaching responsibilities include providing clinical and didactic instruction in the BSN program. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, and the West Tennessee Nurse Practitioners Alliance. She serves on the Positive Living Group’s Mental Health Advisory Board in Jackson, Tennessee. She is also a NCSBN exam development volunteer.
