Ashley Bolden Neal, a Memphis native, joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in August 2017. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2015 and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2010, both from the University of Memphis. She worked as a surgical oncology nurse from 2010 to 2014 at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare. During her time as a surgical oncology nurse, she served as patient care coordinator and preceptor to new graduate nurses. In her most recent role at Methodist, she served as clinical nurse educator for a neurology and orthopedic inpatient unit and facilitator for the nurse residency program. She received the honor of being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Beta Theta At Large Chapter in 2014.
Mrs. Neal currently teaches in the college's BSN program. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Tennessee Nurses Association. From 2018-2021, she served as a mentor for the Tennessee Promise, a program focused on mentoring high school students as they make their transition from high school to college.
