Performance Evaluations
The Performance Evaluation is a necessary and beneficial process, which provides annual feedback to staff members about job effectiveness and career guidance. The performance review is intended to be a fair and balanced assessment of an employee's performance.
Updated Performance Evaluation document and process
The University of Tennessee now utilizes DASH for performance document records. As of 2025, all performance documents are handled in DASH. To begin the process, login to DASH, click the Employee Self Service Finance, Human Resources, Facilities block, under the Me tab, click the Career and Performance tile.
From this area employees can set goals and review/initiate their annual performance evaluation document.

Probationary Period
Complete these forms before the end of the employee’s three-month and six-month anniversary of regular service with the University of Tennessee.

Employee Self Evaluation
The annual performance evaluation process begins with the employee completing a Self-Evaluation in DASH. Access the Self-Evaluation by going under the Me tab and clicking the Career and Performance tile. Then click Performance. Select the appropriate review cycle from the drop-down menu. Click the Staff Annual Performance Evaluation link to begin.
