Cochlear Implant Services
UTHSC audiologists understand and respect that recipients of implantable hearing devices need extra care. We are pleased to offer that unique support to adults, children, and their families. Not only do we offer (re)habilitation therapy and the traditional programming services for all makes and models of devices, but we also provide comprehensive support to help each recipient achieve his/her full potential.
Services for implantable devices include:
- Candidacy Evaluations
- Pre/post-op evaluations – evaluation of speech, language, auditory skills, and vestibular function
- Initial activation of device(s)
- (Re)programming of device(s)
- On-going monitoring of progress overtime
- Aural/Oral (re)habilitation therapy
- Spatial/localization hearing assessments
- Collaboration with UTHSC speech-language pathologists to ensure successful outcomes
- Pre/post-op evaluations – assessment of speech-language and auditory skills as well as vestibular function.
