Three Team Members Complete Graduate Degrees!
One of the many benefits offered to UT employees is the educational assistance program. This benefit allows UT employees to further their education by providing maintenance and tuition fee waivers. Below are three AFSA team members that seized this benefit and received graduate degrees this commencement season along with their personal insights.
Mallory Morgan (In Memoriam), December 2021 – Master of Science in Digital Marketing with a concentration in Business Analytics from East Tennessee State University. Mallory aspired to continue her communications and marketing business vision. In a recent cover letter, she wrote “I want to elevate brand awareness by producing creative and engaging collateral and content as well as facilitate positive change and impact outcomes.”
Anna Norris, May 2022 – Master of Science in Higher Education with a concentration in Finance and Budget from the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Anna shares “This program opened my eyes to the many different areas in higher education from finance administration to higher education policy. I spent the majority of my program focusing on finances as well as the policy issue of college affordability—last dollar scholarship impacts on lower-income students. I am one of the first few cohorts to graduate from this online higher ed master’s program. I highly recommend this program of study for those who enjoy learning about higher education.” Offer your personal high five to Anna at aadcock6@uthsc.edu.
Keri Snyder, May 2022 – Master of Science in Education Leadership from the University of Tennessee at Martin. This is Keri’s second master’s degree, having received her first in 2008. Keri shares “After having worked in higher education for over a decade, I decided to return to school to complete the program in Higher Education Leadership as it compliments my current career. Returning to school at this point in my life meant that I had to be disciplined in my time management, so that I could balance family, work, and classes with minimal disruption. I had been considering returning to school for almost a decade and am glad that I finally had the courage to do so.” Give a ‘hear-hear’ to Keri at ksnyde21@uthsc.edu.
