It is always a feel good moment when those from outside (or inside) of AFSA make an effort to give kudos to someone(s) inside of AFSA. Read below for some upbeat examples of AFSA well-being “pillars.”
Bijoy Kumar (BK) Saha & Ronald Davis – “Just wanted to pass along this note that BK and Ron gave Dr. Callaway, myself, and the students in Functional Neuroanatomy excellent and professional support for the brain labs as always. We appreciate their help.” Signed – Matt Ennis, COM
Mallory Morgan – “Thank you so much for all your assistance with Sim Healthcare week media and graphic design! You have really made our presence look professional, and we appreciate your time and attention to our multiple requests!” Signed - Teresa Britt, CHIPS
Jean Perdicaris – “I wanted to thank-you for sending us a potential applicant! Apparently, the young lady had been transferred all around campus and you were the one who knew how to contact MedicalLaboratory Science! We appreciate it!” Signed – Dr. Kathleen Kenwright, COHP
TLC – “I am collecting information for a Review Team (four faculty from various higher ed. institutions in the U.S.) who will be reviewing and evaluating the Nursing Science Ph.D. Program. As I prepare the narrative for the Self-Study, I have been incredibly impressed with the resources in the Teaching Learning Center. While I have participated in some TLC trainings and used resources on the TLC webpages, I had no awareness of the breadth and depth of services and resources available to faculty, students, and staff. Thank you and the TLC Team for what you have done and are doing to support outstanding teaching and learning at UTHSC.” Signed – Dr. Carolyn Graff, CON
Tom Laughner, Devin Scott, & Nikki House – “During our talk of the Teaching Excellence Institute, we veered a little off topic to discuss the TLC in general and the outstanding resource this has become.” Signed – Dr. Jackie Burchum, CON
Carol Mason– “Carol Mason has been a great help to our office as we prepare to welcome the College of Medicine’s incoming class.” Signed – Dr. Dustin Fulton, COM
Rick Fought – “Just a quick note of thanks for an incredible job on the mock site visit. The reviewers all commented on your passion for UTHSC and the education of our students. With tremendous appreciation!!!” Signed – Executive Dean Scott Strome, COM
Lyndsay Pittman & Allen Dupont – Re: the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding (DoD MOU) application - now signed & completed. “Special thanks to Allen, Lyndsay (and Byron Porter). Your time and attention to detail made this happen.” Signed – Doree Brown, UT System
Dr. Russell, AFSA VC, shares “AFSA is known as a support unit for the campus. The quotes in this Kudos Call-out are just some of the more recent comments that have come my way. I know there are many more that just haven’t made their way to me. Your efforts are noticed by others. AFSA is better for your dedication. I thank you for your sustained work on behalf of our campus.”
