Dr. Rick Fought, Library
June 9, 2021
Dr. Rick Fought recently completed an intensive 7 month program offered by Tennessee’s Council on Developmental Disabilities Partners in Policymaking Leadership Institute, and is now one of Tennessee’s Council on Developmental Disabilities partners in policymaking. This Leadership Institute is the Council’s leadership and advocacy training program for adults with disabilities and family members of persons with disabilities. This state agency arms graduates with language and tools to advocate for inclusion, employment of people with disabilities, medical issues related to developmental disabilities, supports and services, public policy, legislative initiatives, and advocacy. An interesting note is that the Developmental Disabilities Council is part of the executive branch of state government. The Council is doing exceptional work, and AFSA salutes Dr. Fought in this accomplished role.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rick Fought on a winning milestone in his career as well as a win for UTHSC!
