Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Hall, new position - new hire - new initiatives - new nifty!

Thursday, September 1, Dr. Liz Hall, officially transferred from College of Pharmacy to AFSA to fill a newly created position, assistant vice chancellor for AFSA.  Liz earned her PharmD from University of North Carolina (Go Tarheels!), and is board certified in both pharmacotherapy and pediatric pharmacotherapy.

Liz defines her new role as that of being a taskmaster, project manager, and somewhat of a jack of all trades. Others of us would refer to that as being multi-talented! She will help coordinate efforts and special projects across AFSA and make sure all stays on track (read - goals and deadlines met).  Her initial projects will be focused on interprofessional education and strategic planning.  Liz will also manage communications for AFSA and advise on other things as needed such as policies and procedures.

Prior to UTHSC, Liz was a clinical pharmacy specialist at St. Jude and worked primarily in the intensive care unit. What she found she most enjoyed was the problem-solving and creative thinking aspects of the experience. As a result, she pursued an administrative faculty position that would allow her to do more of these things (COP Director of Assessment). She’s now taken that drive one step further (the University level) to serve in this new role so that her strengths in problem solving, project management, and communication continue to flourish.

Liz is passionate about learning! Her motto is to be 1% better than yesterday, and she works to apply this motto to all aspects of life. For example, she is an endurance runner and triathlete having placed in her age group several times over. She boasts the longer the distance the more fun it is! And what’s not to love about going the distance professionally, personally…and more!

Extend your warm welcome to Liz at Liz Hall.  We appreciate your running the AFSA relay race(s) with us, Liz!
