CHIPS Recognition!
On January 11, 2024, the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation
(CHIPS) provided a tour for seniors as part of the Lead for America program. Lead
For America is one of the nation’s fastest-growing nonprofits and a model national
service program. The event was facilitated as part of the program’s MLK Service event.
Positive comments on the CHIPS tour included:
"I am so appreciative of the tour afforded to a few of my seniors from the first of
my four digital technology cohorts I taught. The tour exceeded my expectations and
the seniors were wowed by the real-world labs, robotics, and other state of the art
tools. So life-like! I was even excited about the pharmacy set up!”
"I have reported back to my nonprofit leadership on how exciting everything was, and
how it was well worth the effort."
"You guys were awesome and totally rock! I have learned so much-- even after being
a former Standard Patient (SP) there."
Since its opening in 2018 CHIPS has dedicated countless hours to accurate and realistic
simulation medicine. The CHIPS faculty and staff have been recognized for their efforts
time and time again. Their contribution to the education of UT Health Science Center's
students has been vital to ensuring that those students are able to provide fair and
effective healthcare in their time in the medical fields. The CHIPS faculty and staff
are each tremendous stewards of the CHIPS space, their roles, and are always happy
to contribute, no matter the campus ask.
Please extend your congratulations to the CHIPS Faculty and Staff!
