The ShortSig is NOT a replacement for the primary logo, which serves as the official university logo.
It cannot be used in place of the primary logo on printed or digital materials which
require the official UTHSC logo. It can be used in conjunction with the primary UTHSC
logo, but it cannot appear on the same page as the primary logo. For example, the
ShortSig may not appear on a 1-sided poster, where the primary logo must also appear.
It can however appear on the front of a postcard, when the primary logo is placed
on the back of the postcard. It is usually acceptable to substitute the ShortSig for
the primary UTHSC logo on promotional products such as t-shirts, hats, pens, etc.
It can also be used on other items, such as internal signs, that are deemed appropriate
by Communications and Marketing. It provides an alternative UTHSC “identifier” when
simplicity and boldness are called for, and the official UTHSC logo is not required.
