The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Emergency Medicine Residency Program is here to turn hard-working, driven residents into top-tier emergency physicians, ready to handle any case, anywhere, anytime.”

Unique Educational Opportunities

  • Level 1 Trauma Center – Residents train at Regional One Health, a Level 1 trauma center in Memphis, providing high-volume and high-acuity exposure, including penetrating trauma cases.
  • High Patient Volume – The emergency department sees a diverse and high volume of patients, providing exposure to a wide variety of cases, including rare pathologies and critically ill patients.
  • Simulation Training – The program integrates high-fidelity simulation training, allowing residents to practice complex procedures and critical care scenarios in a controlled world-class environment.
