Meghan Cao has worked as an early interventionist in the East Tennessee area for over
6 years and joined the Pediatric Language Clinic in 2022. She was previously a preschool
and elementary special education teacher for 6 years. Meghan provides direct and virtual
home-based services to families of children in the Tennessee Early Intervention System
(TEIS) who have characteristics of autism or an autism diagnosis. She is enthusiastic
in ensuring parents/caregivers feel confident in assisting their child(ren) to progress
and reach their goals within the Individualized Family Service Plan and beyond. Meghan’s
interests include DIRFloortime, neurodivergent affirming therapy, autism and the autistic
community, apraxia of speech, IEP and disability advocacy, gestalt language processors,
and sensory integration.
