About THEC
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) was created in 1967 by the Tennessee General Assembly to achieve coordination and foster unity with regard to higher education in the state. The Commission coordinates and provides guidance to the higher education institutions in the state.
There are a number policies and forms which are frequently used by the UTHSC community when adding new program concentrations and when developing an new academic program.
