Submitting Slides for Digitization

Slide Digitization Request Form

Service Charges

  • UTHSC Campus Investigators: No cost
  • External Investigators (Other educational and research institutes) - $50 per hour
  • Commercial Organizations - $80 per hour

Physical Slide Requirements

  • Please ensure that all slides have coverslips firmly adhered and are free of any excess and/or wet mounting medium.
  • Wet Slides Will Not Be Scanned!
  • Slides cannot be scanned without coverslips.

Workflow Management

  • Slides will be scanned on a first come, first serve basis. Preference will be given to the investigators who supported the original grant application.
  • Once slides are scanned, an email will be sent to the contact person listed on the request form submitted with the slides. Slides must be retrieved from the scanning facility within 7 business days of notification.
  • Images will be stored on the server for 1 year from the capture date. If you should require that the images be stored for a longer duration of time, please contact Dr. Anand Kulkarni, prior to the end of the 1st year.

Acknowledgement

  • Please ensure that you acknowledge support from NCRR (NCRR 1S10RR025665-01) in any abstracts, posters, and publications that utilize the scanned images.
  • Requests for letters of support for grant applications may be submitted to Anand Kulkarni, MD and should be made at least 7 days in advance.
