Hospital Partner Negotiations

Faculty, Staff, and Students,

A recent article in the Dally Memphian reported on our ongoing negotiations with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. The State of the University report and address last month covered these negotiations in detail, as well as our negotiations with Baptist Memorial Healthcare and West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN.

We expect to bring all three sets of negotiations to a successful conclusion in the near future.

We anticipate growing residency positions and student rotations as described in the address. Our residency programs will be more diversified, with additional activity at Baptist Memorial Healthcare, Regional One Health, the Memphis VA Medical Center, and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (West Tennessee Healthcare), and somewhat less activity at Methodist University Hospital. Le Bonheur should be unchanged. No residency programs will be closed as a result of these transitions.

We will keep you updated as the negotiations proceed.
