Malignant Hematology
The UTHSC Cancer Program has a comprehensive malignant hematology treatment team comprised
of hematologists, hemato-pathologists, pharmacists and specialized nursing care. This
team coordinates multidisciplinary care with other specialties such as radiation oncology,
bone marrow transplant, nutrition and surgery to facilitate diagnosis and the best
treatment plans. The hematologists specialize in the treatment of common forms of
blood cancers such as acute leukemias, myelodysplastic syndrome, chronic leukemias,
myeloma and lymphoma. The team also provides expert care for rare forms of blood disorders
such as amyloidosis, T-cell lymphoma/leukemia, histiocytic disorders, aplastic anemia
and other bone marrow failure conditions. By application of modern targeted therapies,
clinical trial participation opportunities and cancer genome sequencing technology
we aim to provide personalized and cutting-edge treatment to our patients in Memphis
and the surrounding areas. The UTHSC malignant hematology team prioritizes patient
health and wellbeing and provides the best treatment options and key supported care
throughout UTHSC and its affiliated hospitals.
