Bone Marrow Transplantation
The UTHSC Cancer Program has a robust clinical team offering excellent care for patients
needing stem cell/bone marrow transplantation right here in Memphis. Stem cell transplantation
is a curative therapy for several types of leukemia, lymphomas, and improves survival
in patients with myeloma. The team includes university physicians specializing in
the management of hematologic malignancies, stem cell transplant experts, radiation
oncologists, infectious disease experts, and clinical pharmacists. They work very
closely with allied health care professionals such as nutritionists, physical therapists
as well as spiritual care to provide comprehensive care from initial consultation
through cancer survivorship. The experienced team is committed to providing compassionate,
state-of-the-art care for patients requiring stem cell transplantation. Services are
currently provided at Methodist University Hospital, a UTHSC-affiliated institution.
