The UTHSC Center for Cancer Research Education Shared Resource works to coordinate
and enhance existing cancer research education, training, and career development activities
which include but are not limited to planning and evaluation training activities,
coordination of cancer training and education of students and fellows. This resource
will coordinate awarding and distribution of travel funds. In addition, this resource
will organize seminars, workshops, retreats and related training activities (such
as poster day). As a focus of UTHSC Center for Cancer Research, the education shared
resources will promote community outreach and engagement, inclusion of training of
underrepresented populations in education and training activities. Last, we will plan
new initiatives, support members in particular junior faculty in grant applications
and support development of new scientific opportunities through grants.
