- Behavioral and physiological measures of Auditory and Speech Processing Cochlear Implants
Dr. Saravanan Elangovan joined the UTHSC Audiology program in 2023. His research interests
include understanding mechanisms that underlie and influence speech and auditory processing
in specialized listeners (musicians, bilingual speakers) and atypical listeners (adults
with diabetes, concussion). His research involves both behavioral (gap detection,
spatial speech tests) and physiological measures (cortical auditory evoked responses). His
clinical interests are in the areas of auditory processing, cochlear implants and
neonatal/infant auditory diagnostics.
