Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track eligible position (instructor to professor; rank to be commensurate with education and credentials) to contribute to UTHSC?s research, teaching and service missions. Primary teaching responsibilities include hematology or clinical chemistry instruction for students in the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program, and additional teaching responsibilities as assigned and appropriate to individual expertise.

Qualified applicants must hold national certification as MT/MLS(ASCP), specialist certification in chemistry or hematology preferred, have extensive professional experience in hematology or clinical chemistry, and must be eligible for Tennessee licensure as a medical technologist. Minimally, applicants must hold a Master?s Degree and be willing to pursue a Doctoral Degree to be considered for this position. Applicants who have obtained a terminal Doctoral Degree and three or more years of teaching experience, in a university-based medical laboratory science program are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research relevant to the department and the profession.
