Memphis Hotel Accommodations

For families traveling to Memphis, TN for commencement ceremonies, a block of rooms with special rates is usually reserved at local hotels for your convenience.

Parking and Directional Signage

Parking will be located across the street from the Cannon Center at the Mud Island Garage by Premier Parking on Front Street and Poplar Avenue.  

Directional signage from the parking location to the Cannon Center will be placed in locations that are visible to visitors.

Parking will not be available in the Cook Convention Center to due to construction.

Replacement Diploma Request

Replacement Diploma Policy:

  • A replacement diploma will be issued if a notarized statement is sent to the Office of the University Registrar attesting that the original diploma was lost, destroyed, never received, or if the student had a legal name change.
  • The name printed on the replacement diploma will be the same as the name printed on the original diploma unless there is a legal name change. If there is a legal name change, the original diploma and copies of any legal documents must be returned with this notarized statement (i.e. marriage license, divorce decree, driver's license, social security card, etc.).
  • The cost of the diploma is $20.00 plus $10.80 for shipping. If it is to be shipped to an address within Tennessee, an additional $1.85 is required for tax. Check or money order should be made payable to University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of the replacement diploma. Send your request to UTHSC Office of the Registrar, 910 Madison, Ste. 105, Memphis, TN 38163.

What time is the graduation ceremony?
Ceremony times for Spring 2020 will be posted soon.
How early do I need to arrive to the ceremony?
Students should plan to arrive at the graduation venue and be prepared for line up no less than one hour prior to the ceremony.
How long does graduation usually last?
The ceremony can last approximately 1½ hours, depending on the speaker and number of students graduating.
How can I order announcements?
You may order announcements by visiting Make sure to completely spell out “University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center,” when searching for our campus. All information regarding the venue, date, and time should be available on the website of the vendor.
Is there a limit to the number of guests one can invite?
Unless notified by your college, there is no limit on the number of guests invited.
