Commencement Dates
We will host Memphis commencement activities in person on the following days:
Summer Commencement
- August 15th at 10:00 am - Cannon Center for the Performing Arts
Winter Commencement
- December 12, 2022 at 10:00 am - Cannon Center for the Performing Arts
Spring Commencement
- May 8 - 9, 2023 - Cannon Center for the Preforming Arts. Times are TBD.

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for awarding degrees and certificates. Students must meet all requirements
before degrees/certificates are awarded.
For specific requirements, students should contact their academic department.
Livestreaming information will be updated closer to the ceremony date.
We want to ensure our families have options when traveling to Memphis for commencement. Below are a few suggestions we have:

- When the degrees are conferred, please walk up the ramp and your name will be read from an alphabetical list as you cross the stage. You will receive a green tube with a graduation celebration letter from the Chancellor. Then you will descend off of the stage and stop about half-way to have your picture taken. Afterwards, you will return to your seat for the remainder of the ceremony.
- Please be seated immediately after returning to your seat.
- Graduates will not return to the graduate lineup area. Please do not bring any items that you will need to carry or store.
- Regalia must be returned before you’re the venue. Regalia drop off will be located at the coat check. There will be signage.
- Students and faculty may arrive 1 1/2 hours prior to the ceremony start time.
- Guests may arrive 1 hour prior to the ceremony start time.
Students may order regalia using the student regalia order form. The deadline to order student regalia is July 11, 2022. Faculty may order regalia using the faculty regalia order form. The deadline to order faculty regalia is July 18, 2022. Regalia may be picked up on August 1, 2022 and August 5, 2022 from 9:00am-3:00pm at the HSC Hub located on the 1st Floor of the Madison Plaza.
Graduates are asked to arrive 1 ½ hours prior to ceremony start time. Guests are asked to arrive 1 hour prior to ceremony start time.
The University provides professional graduation photo services through GradImages. Graduates will be contact by GradImages following commencement and offered the opportunity to purchase photos. Graduates and their guests will not be allowed to take photos in the lobby of the Cannon Center before or after the ceremony.
- Graduates or their guests in need of accessibility assistance to attend the commencement ceremony should e-mail SACE as soon as possible to make the appropriate arrangements.

Replacement Diploma Policy:
- A replacement diploma will be issued if a notarized statement is sent to the Office
of the University Registrar attesting that the original diploma was lost, destroyed,
never received, or if the student had a legal name change.
- The name printed on the replacement diploma will be the same as the name printed on the original diploma unless there is a legal name change. If there is a legal name change, the original diploma and copies of any legal documents must be returned with this notarized statement (i.e. marriage license, divorce decree, driver's license, social security card, etc.).
- The cost of the diploma is $20.00 plus $10.80 for shipping. If it is to be shipped to an address within Tennessee, an additional $1.85 is required for tax. Check or money order should be made payable to University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of the replacement diploma.
