UTHSC Residency and Fellowship

The UTHSC Colleges of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy offer postgraduate training programs that attract participants from around the globe.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center prides itself on the quality of its residencies and fellowships. Each program is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of its future providers.

Through the College of Medicine, the office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) oversees 55 different residencies & fellowships on the UTHSC campus.

The UT GME Program is statewide with approximately 900 residents training in participating hospitals located in Chattanooga, Jackson, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville.

It's mission is to provide a broad array of programs targeted at the education and training of physicians at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.

The teaching facilities provide an appropriate clinical environment, and the University provides technological support and research opportunities, both clinical and basic.

The College of Dentistry's postgraduate programs are thriving. Residencies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology, and Prosthodontics are all available.

The College of Dentistry is dedicated to provide professional, graduate, and postgraduate education, conduct dental research, and deliver state-of-the-art patient care and public service.

The College of Pharmacy's postgraduate programs are among the largest in the United States. Over 750 pharmacists have completed a residency or fellowship in Tennessee.

Annual symposiums, like the recently held "Focus on Research Development", are attended by residents & fellows throughout the state.

Tennessee is recognized as a national leader in residency and fellowship training innovations, including the largest community pharmacy residency program in the country.
