Faculty Development
The Department sponsors a monthly faculty development series, a cornerstone of our commitment to advancing clinician educators towards meeting crucial milestones in their careers.
Each session is meticulously designed to enhance competencies outlined in ACGME’s Clinician Educator competency statements, focusing on four key domains: Administration, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Educational Theory and Practice, and Well-Being. Through these sessions, faculty members refine their administrative skills essential for effective program management and fostering optimal learning environments. They also cover issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, exploring how to dismantle barriers and promote an inclusive culture where all educators and learners thrive. Educational theory and practice sessions ensure faculty apply cutting-edge teaching methodologies, while discussions on well-being foster environments that support both personal and learner health. Attendance is mandatory and contributes to Annual Performance reviews. Faculty are able to claim CME credits, making these sessions integral to professional growth and excellence in OBGYN education. Topics such as feedback strategies, enhancing scholarly activities, and building educator portfolios are regularly covered, ensuring our faculty remain at the forefront of educational innovation and practice.
