Research Interests
My translational and multidisciplinary program of research intersects neuroscience, nursing, and genomics to focus on the influence of clinical, social, and omic factors for long-term patient outcomes after neurologic injury and chronic disease. More specifically, my current projects include 1) multivariate modeling for long-term physical, cognitive, and affective outcomes post-aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (a specific form of stroke); 2) detection of biomarkers for physiological and behavioral recovery after mild traumatic brain injury (concussion); and 3) the development of precisely targeted socio-behavioral and pharmacogenomic interventions to improve outcomes for these groups.
