Continuing Education

Accreditation

All state boards of Dentistry require Dentists, Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants to complete various hours of continuing education annually in accordance with their state's dental rules and regulations for licensing.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. The current term of approval extends from November 2019 to December 2023.

For more information, please contact CDE Director Lynne Moore at dlmoore@uthsc.edu.

Scheduling Notice for all CDE Activities

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center has announced plans to move classes to remote delivery in response to the COVID-19 threat. UTHSC is also cancelling all public events. The Office of Continuing Dental Education  has postponed ALL courses in April and May. We are currently working through a plan to reschedule affected CE courses for the Summer and Fall.

We ask for your patience as we communicate with you via email and reschedule courses for the summer and fall. We truly understand how inconvenient this is to you - but public health is a top priority with the rising threat of COVID-19. We appreciate your cooperation.

Our office is currently closed to the public until further notice and all inquiries should be emailed.
