Primary Care Sports Medicine Applicant Information
Letter from the Program Director
“As a University of Tennessee College of Medicine - Chattanooga Family Medicine Residency Graduate, I am proud to be a part of this new Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship for our campus.
My passion for learning myself and educating new physicians will continue, and I look forward to guiding fellows and future colleagues toward their passion. Our robust faculty will guide non-surgical treatments in an ever-evolving, patient-driven field of medicine. Each fellow will be encouraged to develop themselves as a physician, leader, and educator. This will help patients and teams excel at their goals.
Personally, I enjoy my spending time with my wife and two young children. I also spend time enjoying the outdoors, especially with golf and serving in other roles throughout the Chattanooga community. Chattanooga has been a blessing since moving here in 2016. From the mountain to the river to waterfront activities and great restaurants, Chattanooga is a great place to spend spare time during fellowship. With the help of UTHSC College of Medicine - Chattanooga and Erlanger, I look forward to growing our fellowship to be a staple in our College of Medicine and our area community.”
Sincerely,
W. Hunter Garrett, MD
Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program Director
Associate Professor, Department of Family Medicine
