Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
In the UTHSC Division of Plastic Surgery, we provide value to our patients, colleagues, and institution through our tireless service in clinical care, research, and education.
Our mission is to deliver outstanding patient care in a collaborative environment that supports our institution and our patients. We advance the careers of our surgeons and staff in clinical care, research, leadership roles, and skill development. We believe that faculty and staff who are supported and valued are positioned to support their patients and community in a value-added way. We believe that growth, both personal and professional, should be enabled by the workplace. We believe that the value equation of quality plus service divided by cost is a foundational inspiration of patient-focused care.
Our values instilled our mission and focus.
- We are Accountable: We accept responsibility for our actions and how we impact our community.
- We are Patient-focused: we put the patients first. Always.
- We are Collaborative: we work as a team—with each other, with our colleagues, and with our patients.
- We are Committed: we follow up and we follow through.
Message from the Division Chief
Plastic Surgery has a long and rich tradition at UTHSC. Alumni of the plastic surgery residency program have gone on to serve in academic and clinical leadership roles throughout the country. Our broadly-trained faculty serve in hospital, regional, and national leadership roles, and treat the full spectrum of plastic surgery conditions -from head to toe, and from newborns to adults. Our surgeons are affiliated with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Baptist Hospital, Regional One Health, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Memphis Surgery Center.
The Firefighters Burn Center at Regional One Health is American Burn Association accredited, and is the only full-service burn center in a 250-mile catchment area. The plastic-surgery directed Craniofacial program at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital cares for people with craniofacial differences from childhood through adulthood.
