Valeria Mas, PhD, MS, FAST

Endowed Professor of Transplant Research
Professor of Surgery
Professor of Genetics, Genomics, and Informatics
Director, Transplant Research Institute
Methodist University Transplant Institute

Dr. Mas has been conducting studies in genomics and proteomics related to kidney and liver transplant recipients for the past 18 years. Research focus includes: the evaluation of molecular pathways that associate with graft fibrosis development and loss of function post-kidney transplantation, the effects of organ donor biology in short-and long-term outcomes post-transplantation, and the identification of early biomarkers that distinguish those organs for high risk post-transplant dysfunction.
