Mission
The mission of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Office of Leadership and Service is to cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals who embody not only clinical excellence but also unwavering dedication to community welfare. Learning Outcomes
Through participation with the Office of Leadership and Service, students will be able to:
- Describe how SDoH contribute to health disparities.
- Identify and analyze upstream drivers of SDoH.
- Describe and evaluate their lived experience and how this impacts patient care and interactions.
- Demonstrate integrating SDoH and cultural humility concepts into patient interactions and inter-professional teamwork.
- Identify approaches to collaborate with others in achieving a shared goal by exchanging ideas and assigning responsibilities across various groups.
- Develop a heightened awareness of social issues and a commitment to addressing community
needs with empathy and cultural humility.
