Pedi-Flite Transport Program

A pioneer in pediatric medical transport, we have provided specialized transport for critically ill and injured children for more than 30 years. Le Bonheur’s Pedi-Flite is staffed by a dedicated specialized pediatric transport team.  Each year, more than 2,000 patients are transported to Le Bonheur via Pedi-Flite.

As a fellow in our program, you will get transport experience in your second year of training. A month of this year is dedicated to each fellow to become a dedicated and active member of the team. This allows the fellows in training to understand the capabilities of our team and its members, introduces them to the world of transport medicine, allows them to work with referring physicians and prepares them to serve in the capacity of Medical Control Physician for the remainder of their fellowship years. Rudy Kink, MD serves as Medical Director for the Pedi-Flite Transport and Transfer Center.
