Fellow Rotations
1st Year
- Pediatric Nephrology Inpatient service: 5 months; 2 weeks’ block
- Research: 3 months
- Transplant Rotation (in UT): One month
- Pathology Introduction: 1-2 weeks
- Pediatric Urology Rotation: One month
- Hemodialysis Unit Rotation: One month. Afterwards longitudinal follow up of 4-6 HD patients.
- Peritoneal dialysis: longitudinal follow up of 4-6 patients: one half-day clinic twice per month.
- General Nephrology Outpatient Clinic: One half-day/week.
- Transplant Patients: longitudinal follow up of 8-10 patients; one half-day clinic twice per month.
- Weekend coverage: once a month.
- Procedures: by the end of first year our fellows are expected to master: the Initiation and maintenance of CRRT, acute hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as well as performing percutaneous kidney biopsy.
2nd Year
- Pediatric Nephrology Inpatient service: 3 months; 2 weeks’ block.
- Call – one week per month, night and weekend call (beeper call from home)
- Continuity Patients: HD, PD and transplant patients.
- Out Patient: One half day nephrology Clinic/week.
- Research: 9 months.
- Procedures: Initiation and maintenance of CRRT, acute hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis
and performing kidney biopsy
3rd Year
