Fee Payment Dates

  • Students starting July 1: Fee payments are due July 12, 2024
  • Students starting August 1: Fee payments are due August 1, 2024
  • Students starting August 5: Fee payments are due August 5, 2024
  • Students starting August 26: Fee payments are due August 26, 2024

Late Registration Fee $100 assessed

  • Students starting July 1: Late Registration fee July 15, 2024
  • Students starting August 1: Late Registration fee August 2, 2024
  • Students starting August 5: Late Registration fee August 6, 2024
  • Students starting August 26: Late Registration fee August 27, 2024

Several discounts and waivers are available through UTHSC and the State of Tennessee.

UTHSC’s Regional Tuition Rate Program provides a seventy five percent (75%) discount on out-of-state tuition for eligible students in Arkansas and Mississippi residing within fifty (50) miles of Memphis. The discount applies to students in the Colleges of Nursing (Undergraduate programs and CRNA) and in certain programs in Health Professions (Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy, and Master of Occupational Therapy).

University Graduate Assistants (GA), Graduate Research Assistants (GRA), Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) and Graduate Teaching Associates (TA) who are employed at least 25% time on University payroll records receive certain tuition and/or maintenance waivers excluding mini-term . These positions are authorized by University academic departments and students may contact their departments for application information.

Tuition charges for a maximum of 9 semester hours may be waived for regular full-time University of Tennessee employees. Part-time employees may receive a prorated tuition waiver based on the percentage of time they are employed. Employee fee waivers are contingent on the employee's pay status as of the first official day of classes each term. Information is available in the University Personnel Policy Manual or by following this link.

Undergraduate spouses and/or dependents of regular full-time University employees are eligible for a maximum 50% discount on in-state maintenance charges. This benefit is also available (on a percentage basis) to spouses and/or dependents of regular part-time employees who are working at least 50% time and who have at least one year of University service. The waiver is provisional on the employee's pay status on the first official day of class each term. Employees should contact the Office of Human Resources on their campus for complete information or follow this link.

Undergraduate dependents (under the age of 24) of officially certified or licensed full-time Tennessee Public School Teachers or undergraduate dependents (under the age of 24) of full-time or retired State of Tennessee Employees are eligible for a 25% discount on in-state maintenance charges. An original discount form must be submitted each term and is available in both locations of the Bursar's Office or click on the following link: Waivers for Tennessee Public School Teachers or Undergraduates of Full-time or Waivers for Retired State of Tennessee Employees.

Full-time employees of Tennessee Board of Regent institutions of higher education and full-time employees of the State of Tennessee may be eligible to take one University class per term at no charge on a space available basis. More information is available from the Bursar's Office or from the individual's employer.

Dependents under the age of 21 whose parent was killed or died as a direct result of injuries received while serving as a member of the armed forces during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War or Desert Storm may enroll without paying fees. Additionally, dependents of Vietnam War prisoners of war or missing in action armed forces members may enroll without paying fees. Specific information is available from the Bursar's Office.

Individuals with a permanent total disability and individuals at least 60 years of age may audit courses without paying fees. Individuals at least 65 years of age may enroll in courses for credit at a reduced rate of $7.00 per semester hour.
