Memphis Campus Will Open Tuesday, January 23

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students, 

We have conducted a review of all our facilities this morning and our team is actively working to resolve issues created by the cold temperatures over the course of the past several days. The water pressure on campus is beginning to stabilize, however, the boil-water advisory remains in effect for the city.

Based on our assessment of campus conditions, the UT Health Science Center campus in Memphis will be open tomorrow with limited exceptions.

As a result of the ongoing issues across the city, many public and private schools may be closed and as such, we ask that supervisors to be flexible and allow employees to work remotely, where practical, or take appropriate leave.

Those who perform services on campus that are impacted by the ongoing boil-water advisory and with no ability to work remotely will work with their department head and the Office of Human Resources to determine leave approval. There will be limited approval of unscheduled administrative closure (UAC) only for those positions receiving administrative approval. If there is any doubt about your specific work circumstance, please consult your supervisor.

Employees assigned to partner institutions and students on clinical rotations will need to ensure they adhere to related expectations. Please review your respective programs’ policies and procedures governing such activities and be on the lookout for more specific information regarding your program/workspace.
