Professional Psychology Internship Consortium

The University of Tennessee Professional Psychology Internship Consortium, an APA-accredited program, is a part of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. It is composed of programs within the Department of Psychiatry and a number of cooperating community agencies that together provide a wide range of clinical experiences.

Our 2024-2025 Internship Brochure provides a full description of the internship, each cooperating agency, and the application process. Please indicate which track you are applying to (General, St. Jude Pediatric, St. Jude Neuropsychology or all three) and rank order your rotation interests/preferences in the table on page 40 of the brochure; please include the entire table in your cover letter. Applications should be completed by November 15.  Applicants will be notified of their status by December 15.

Interview dates will be January 3, 5, 10, 16, and 23. All interviews will be conducted virtually.

Internship Program Admissions

Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:
Although UTHSC Consortium agencies represent a wide range of clinical experiences, the current makeup of the Consortium is primary child and family-serving agencies. Additionally, many of the current rotation offerings emphasize assessment. Applicants with primarily interests in working with children and families, and with experience in assessment, will find the best fit at this internship site.
