Practice Programs

A commitment to practice is deeply embedded in the fabric of our college.

UTHSC College of Nursing has a national reputation for preparing top-notch practitioners and integrating practice as a key element of our mission. From professional entry through doctoral education, from operating rooms to primary care clinics, and from rural communities to big cities; our faculty are forging new pathways in the delivery of health care. Our practice sites are extremely diverse, representing the background and preparation of faculty and staff who engage in faculty practice.

Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Department

Dr. Wendy Likes
Dr. Wendy Likes has been a certified family nurse practitioner since 1999 with most of her experience in gynecologic oncology and lower genital tract disease. For the last 12 years, she has led the Center for HPV and Dysplasia performing colposcopy, vulvoscopy, and high resolution anoscopy. Dr. Likes serves as a colposcopy mentor for the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
Dr. Diane Pace
 Dr. Diane Pace has been a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 1976. Much of her experience over the last 20 years has been focused in women’s health. She is a Certified Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society where she also was the first APRN to serve as President of the organization. For the last 8 years, she has practiced at the Methodist Teaching Practice in Memphis, an Internal Medicine Practice providing Primary Care and Women’s Health Care focusing on Menopause and Sexual Health.
Dr. Laura Reed
Dr. Laura Reed has been a certified family nurse practitioner since 1990 with most of her experience in internal medicine and chronic disease management. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings including the post-transplant clinic and most recently, an internal medicine practice. 
Dr. Nina Sublette
 Dr. Nina Sublette has been a certified family nurse practitioner since 1999 with most of her experience in infectious diseases and high risk maternal fetal medicine. She has a clinical practice at UT-ROP, where she sees HIV-positive women for prenatal care, post-op /postpartum care, HIV management, and family planning services. She is certified as an Advanced HIV/AIDS Certified Nurse.
Dr. Crystal Walker
 Dr. Crystal Walker has been certified as a family nurse practitioner since 2015. She currently practices at Regional One Health in the Adult Special Care Center as an HIV primary care provider. 

Acute and Tertiary Care Department

Dr. Dwayne Accardo
Dr. Dwayne Accardo has been a certified registered nurse anesthetist since 2001. He performs all aspects of general anesthesia, but his area of clinical expertise is in obstetrics. Dr. Accardo also serves as the clinical site coordinator for nurse anesthesia students that rotate within the Methodist hospitals.
Dr. Bobby Bellflower
Dr. Bobby Bellflower has been a board certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years with most of her experience in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Regional One Health and in the Level IV NICU at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. She served as the manager for NNP services in both hospitals. Currently, Dr. Bellflower is practicing at Regional-One health.
Dr. Ricketta Clark
Dr. Ricketta Clark has been a certified family nurse practitioner since 1999 with most of her experience in gastroenterology.  For the past 14 years, she has treated patients with various gastroenterology conditions with a special focus on Hepatitis C virus. 
Dr. Carrie Harvey
Dr. Carrie Harvey has been a board certified acute care nurse practitioner since 1998. Her experience is in cardiology with a subspecialty focus in cardiac electrophysiology. She is a current member of Heart Rhythm Society and the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. She maintains a faculty practice at UTMP Cardiology Division as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and sees patients with heart rhythm disorders, pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr. Donna Lynch-Smith
Dr. Donna Lynch-Smith has been a certified acute care nurse practitioner since 2010 with most of her experience in pulmonary/critical care. Dr. Lynch-Smith currently practices as an intensivist in a medical intensive care managing acute ill patients. 
Dr. Tracy McClinton
Dr. Tracy McClinton is certified adult-gerontology acute care practitioner. Her specialty practice is in the role of a hospitalist nurse practitioner. She continues to serve patients in the acute care setting, providing them with excellent care.
Dr. Emma Murray
Dr. Emma Murray has been a certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) since 2001. She was the first ACNP hired in a Hospitalist position at Methodist University Hospital in 2005. She practices PRN with Dr. Ellena Henderson and Dr. Khalid Rassoul as a Hospitalist at MUH; she also acts as a preceptor for UTHSC, DNP students in the clinical setting.
Dr. Michelle Rickard
Dr. Michelle Rickard has been a certified pediatric acute care nurse practitioner since 2015. Her nurse practitioner experience focuses in the hospitalist setting with prior nursing experience in pediatric oncology and palliative care as well as the neonatal intensive care.
