Installing the Cisco VPN AnyConnect Client
For Windows Operating Systems Only
Note:If you have a Mac OSX operating system, refer to the VPN instructions for OSX page.
1.)From your offsite computer, browse to https://janus.uthsc.edu (you cannot reach this site from the UTHSC network). Don't forget that it is https:!
2.) You will see the authentication window below. Please enter your UT Net ID and password. (You must have a UT Net ID and password to install and use the VPN system).
3.) Click "Login" to go to the next page. Click Continue on the next window if you wish to proceed.
4.) On the next page, click on "AnyConnect". (The rest of the tabs here are non-functional so do not click on them.)
5.) On the next window, read the requirements and description. Click "Start AnyConnect" to begin the installation process.
6.) If the installation fails, you will receive this window. If so, click on Windows Desktop.
7.) The Setup Wizard window will appear. Click Next, Accept, Install, and Finish through the wizard to complete the installation.
8.) Once complete you will need to find the Cisco folder (Start > Programs or Apps for Windows 10 users), expand, and select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. You should see this window below. You'll need to enter janus.uthsc.edu .
9.) After clicking connect you should see the following window. You will need to enter your NetID and Password to access the VPN.
*Note: Be sure to disconnect from the VPN when not in use.
