Installing the Cisco VPN AnyConnect Client
For 64 bit Operating Systems Only
Note:If you have a 32 bit Windows operating system, refer to the instructions for 32 bit Windows operating systems. If you don't know if you have a 32 bit operating system, you probably don't have one. Please just follow the directions below.
1.)From your offsite computer, browse to https://janus.uthsc.edu (you cannot reach this site from the UTHSC network). Don't forget that it is https:!
2.) You will see the authentication window below. Please enter your UT Net ID and password. (You must have a UT Net ID and password to install and use the VPN system).
3.) Click "Login" to go to the next page. Click Continue on the next window if you wish to proceed.
4.) On the next page, click on "AnyConnect". (The rest of the tabs here are non-functional so do not click on them.)
5.) On the next window, read the requirements and description. Click "Start AnyConnect" to begin the installation process.
6.) The installation process will begin. First it will download files. Then it will configure the application.
7.) The AnyConnect client has now been installed. The application can be found in the system tray as described on the page. Immediately after installation the Cisco AnyConnect will be started.
8.) You can now browse to UTHSC resources as if you are on our campus network. When you are finished working with UTHSC resources, right click on the Cisco AnyConnect to disconnect and/or exit. When you want to start another VPN session, go under Start, Programs, to the Cisco program group to start the application. Log into the window below to begin your session.
