Division of Infectious Diseases
The UTHSC Division of Infectious Disease consists of faculty dedicated to the clinical, educational and research missions of the division. Our inpatient clinical programs benefit from the rich and diverse patient populations served by our three primary teaching hospitals: Regional One Health, Methodist University Hospital, and the Memphis VA Medical Center.
We are fortunate to practice and teach outpatient infectious diseases in a model interdisciplinary clinic dedicated to the care of HIV-infected patients. Research programs in the division range from patient-based clinical research to basic laboratory investigation.
The division enjoys a national reputation for its clinical and educational programs and is recognized nationally and internationally for our research programs in streptococcal diseases, bacterial pathogenesis and vaccine development.
