Dr. Henderson has been an adjunct professor for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center since 2020. She has also been a guest lecturer since 1999 and assisted with pediatric courses and assessment labs from 2012-2015 for the Department of Occupational Therapy. She is a graduate of UTHSC (BS in OT, 1998) and received a post-professional master of science in Occupational Therapy (2019) as well as a post-professional (clinical) Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (2021) from Mount Mary University. Dr. Henderson has been in clinical practice in pediatrics since 1998. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, Early Intervention, and private school settings and has owned a private practice clinic. She received board specialty certification in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association in 2018. She also has certification in electrical stimulation and thermal agent modalities, Interactive Metronome, iLs Focus System and Safe and Sound Program, and is a WINC Certified Infant Massage Instructor. In addition, she completed training to administer the Evaluation in Ayers Sensory Integration assessment. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association. Dr. Henderson is also a member of the Food Allergy Research and Education and the Food Allergy Alliance of the Midsouth. She received the Craft of Teaching Medallion from UTHSC in 2022.
