Dear Members of the UTHSC Community,

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the tragic loss of a member of our UTHSC family. Matthew Thomas, CoM class of 2019, has passed away. We offer our deepest condolences to Matthew’s family, friends and loved ones.

During this time of great loss, we are reminded of the importance of community. Losing a fellow student and member of our university can be very difficult. I encourage those who feel they may need additional support to contact SASSI (901.448.5056) or University Health Services (901.448.5630) for any emotional or academic assistance you may need during the day. You can also call the after-hours counseling line at 901.690.CARE on nights/weekends to speak directly to a UTHSC counselor.
