The FAFSA may be filed electronically beginning October 1st of each year, using (PPY) prior-prior year federal income tax information. Students will need a FSA ID to complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA must be completed each year. We encourage you to file early and to file a FAFSA even if you are unsure if you will require financial aid assistance. Submit additional information as requested by the Financial Aid Office. You may be asked for additional documentation to confirm your eligibility for federal student aid. The Financial Aid Office will notify students through their UTHSC student email of any additional required documents. Failure to complete the financial aid application and to submit all requested documentation may result in the loss of institutional, federal, and state aid, which could includes scholarships, grants, and student loans.
