Patient Safety / Quality Improvement (PS/QI)

The University of Tennessee Graduate Medical Education Program is committed to the education and development of exemplary physicians who practice patient-centered health care, foster innovation in patient safety, and create strong inter-professional teams to promote quality, safety, and value in health care across the continuum.

Dr. Peter Pronovost from Johns Hopkins Medical Institution provides an overview of the Science of Health Care Safety in our current culture. It is strongly recommended that all University of Tennessee Health Science Center Resident/Fellows faculty, physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health staff view this video. This 23 minute video lays the groundwork for the cultural transformation needed to "eliminate preventable harm, improve patient outcomes and experiences and reduce healthcare costs".
