UTHSC Welcomes 984 New Students to Campus.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center kicked off the back-to-school season by welcoming 984 new students to campus. Eight orientations were held to acclimate the 127 Dentistry, 97 Graduate Health Sciences, 229 Health Professions, 169 Medicine, 187 Nursing, and 175 Pharmacy students to campus.
3-D Anatomy Table Gives UTHSC Students An Interactive Edge in Learning
The table became available on campus after the UTHSC Student Government Association Executive Council (SGAEC) decided that the table would be an essential learning tool for students on campus. They approached the administration of the University Health Sciences Library to make a proposal for campus improvement.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center wants to make sure you are doing your part on being protected from the flu virus this year by stopping by to receive a free flu vaccination at Boo Flu.
Please remember to bring your UTHSC ID badge to receive a free flu vaccination while supplies last.
The event will take place in the Madison Plaza Lobby on October 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is available to all UTHSC students, employees, postdocs, residents and retirees. The event is being sponsored by University Health Services (UHS), the College of Pharmacy, the Office of Student Life, the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), and the Student Government Association Executive Council (SGAEC).
UTHSC’s New Registered Nurse First Assistant Program Only One in Tennessee
The new program will prepare nurses with the skills needed to provide evidence-based care to surgical patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. BSNs or RNs enrolled in an accredited RN to BSN program who are certified perioperative nurses, and advanced practice registered nurses seeking to advance their skills, are eligible to apply to the RNFA program. The first students in the new program begin their training in August.
