Education Information
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is conservative in awarding credit for learning experiences at military schools. In order for credit to be granted, the material covered in the school must be like the material taught in a course at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The amount and level of credit given is determined by the faculty in the appropriate University college. You must have an official JST transcript sent to the Office of Admissions when you apply.
Please see the guide below if you are considering transferring your military credit to your degree program at UTHSC.

Deferment of Payment for VA Beneficiaries
As part of the 2012 Principles of Excellence, an institution must disclose to each student receiving DoD or VA education benefits the general degree requirements for the student's education program.
The Department of Defense refers to such information as an "educational plan."
The evaluated educational plan must be provided to the Service member within 60 days.
Only courses listed in the Service member's evaluated educational plan will be approved for TA.
The Academic Bulletin serves as the source of all academic program general degree requirements and fulfills the mandate for an educational plan.
