Committee Orientation Meeting Has Been Set
The first meeting (which is considered the orientation meeting) will be held Friday, September 20, 2019. All members will receive a special gift and if you did not pick-up your notebook during the last cycle, you will have the opportunity to pick it up at the Committee orientation meeting.
Admissions Committee Meetings Have Been Set
The College of Medicine Admissions Committee meeting dates are scheduled from 12:00 noon ending before 4:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. There are nineteen (19) scheduled Admissions Committee meetings for the 2020 entering class. Please mark your calendar (today) and pass this information along to your staff.

The Alpha and Beta Interview Summary Sheet Has Been Revised
Please remember to shred the older version of the alpha and beta interview summary sheets used to assist you in interviewing applicants. The alpha and beta interview summary sheets will be located in your secure file transfer folder.
New Members Have Been Chosen
Following the departure and graduation of with Tyler Rist, M4 and Mallory Walsh, M4, two third year students have been invited to serve as members of the College of Medicine Admissions Committee for a two-year term effected September 20, 2019. We will welcome Lydia Makepeace, M3 and Matthew Spence, M3 to our Admissions Committee Orientation meeting in September. In addition to our new student members, we will also welcome James Haynes, MD, Chattanooga Regional member. We look forward to welcoming these members at the start of the 2020 entering class admissions cycle.
Applicant Interview Appointment Dates
Applicant interview(s) are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from October until April. The more interview appointment times provided from the Admissions Committee members, we could potentially schedule 20 to 25 applicants per week completing the interviewing cycle in February! To retrieve the monthly interview appointment forms and note deadline dates. Regional members will have the option to interview applicants Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
College of Medicine Merit-Based Scholarships
The Admissions Committee will select the top fifteen (15) accepted applicants to be considered for the College of Medicine Merit-Based Scholarships. Selection is based on: (1) academic achievement; (2) leadership ability; (3) interviews and (4) outstanding personal qualities. Merit scholarship recipients will be e-mailed notifications by March 16 followed by a hard copy to be postal mailed to the address indicated on the AMCAS application.
Entering Class Roster
To view the UTHSC College of Medicine Entering Class Roster you will need your UT netID and password. If you do not have a UTHSC netiD and password, e-mail Diane Harris, Admissions Coordinator and this information will be placed in your secure file transfer folder.
